Hi, I'm Zach! I live on Chicago's west side in Humboldt Park. I still can't believe I get to be a photographer in my favorite city. My dream job in my dream city? Come on!
I've picked up a camera just about every day since I first fell in love with photography back in 2013. Though every shoot holds something unique, it takes a lot to catch me off guard after nearly a decade in business.
My interests are all over the place, so I can't wait to see what we have in common! Will we connect over lit, music, or film? Maybe motorcycles or hiking. Might be mixology or cooking. Or we can compare tattoos! I'm sure we'll find something.
I pride myself on my ability to quickly connect with my clients, making them feel comfortable, cared for, and confident that they look great. I’m good at going with the flow: not every event I’m at goes exactly according to plan and I know how to be flexible and roll with the punches. Being a helpful and calming presence in the midst of your wedding or event is second nature to me. Basically, I try to treat people how I want to be treated: with fairness and understanding!

Chicago is home to such a beautiful array of human diversity. Being a photographer here rules! I love getting to experience a huge variety of unique cultures up close on a wedding day. On the technical side, I am proud of my ability to capture the radiance of Black skin tones and help interracial couples look their best together. As an LGBTQIA+ ally, I love love in all its beautiful myriad forms!
Empathic
Capturing authentic emotion doesn't just happen. To get those shots where a person's feelings are written across their face, they're exchanging a subtle loving glance, or they're fully lost in the moment - these require an empathic connection between the photographer and the subject. I love getting caught up in the human experience, whether it's with a couple in love, a musician playing their heart out, or a shy flower girl finding her courage.
Engaging
I just have a genuine interest in people and their well-being. Friendship and building mutual trust as I go helps me become part of the event, not just an outside observer. Basically, I wanna be pals and have a great time too!
Collaborative
I've got my go-to techniques and poses and locations, but I'm always ready to hear your ideas and make them a reality! By working with you as a collaborator, we can create something together we never could have without each other.
